Envision Nantucket

Located some 30 miles off the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Nantucket was once the whaling capital of the work. Today the island is a National Historic Landmark District with over 800 properties built prior to 1860. Beginning in 2012, the University of Florida Preservation Institute Nantucket launched an initiative to document the island’s historic buildings and sites using 3D digital technology. Envision Nantucket is a public-private partnership between University of Florida Preservation Institute Nantucket, Nantucket Preservation Trust, and the Town of Nantucket, Massachusetts.

Site plans, street elevations, and other digital products are available through downloadable PDFs. Additional documentation including 3D digital models are available upon request. Please contact Marty Hylton, University of Florida Director of Historic Preservation at mhylton@ufl.edu
